Standard Poodle Pictures & Information

We took a weekend trip to Louisiana and Gumbo got to run and romp with his cousin, Bingo, a Parti Poodle and his cousin, Jazz, a black Lab. We all had fun.

Shiloh & Savannah are Golden Retriever puppies from next door. They came over today for a little romp around my back yard. They all had a great time and when it was all said and done, we had some tired dogs on our hands.

I don’t think he poses intentionally, but it seems that every moment is a Kodak (or iPhone) moment with this dog.

Mid February usually means lots of things. One of the things it means is that it’s time for the Westminster Kennel Club’s dog show at Madison Square Garden. This year’s show was pretty good I thought. Of course the dogs at this level are always perfect, but I have to say I like when the same old breeds don’t win Best in Show.

Our Poodles were well-represented this year with a Standard Poodle winning the non-sporting category. Below is a photo of Ch Randenn Tristar Affirmation, this year’s winner in non-sporting.

Best in show this year went to “Stump”, Ch Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee, a Sussex Spaniel. He is quite a beautiful dog and I am again glad to see a newer breed win BIS. Below is a photo of Stump, well on his way to representing all dogs on behalf of the WKC for 2009.

Gumbo and I would like to congratulate all of the participants. We enjoyed watching the show.

Gumbo is hangin’ with his Beagle buds in Florida.

Gumbo likes to look over my shoulder when we’re on the road. He really likes traveling.

Gumbo got a haircut today. He had gotten pretty shaggy, but now he’s groomed , neat and smells good.
